GnB Halloween Party
10/31/2004

I thought I'd have time this week to blog something, anything, but I've been busy all week with this Halloween party.  I've had to organize the whole thing, because nobody knows anything about Halloween.  Hyun-ju knows something about Halloween, but told me from the beginning, that "Halloween is not my thing."  Basically, I went out and bought supplies for the party, and thought of games and ideas, while my director funded the whole thing.  During the week, all the students made masks in my classes and read Halloween stories or did puzzles.  It all culminated on Friday with four, separate Halloween parties, each combining three classes.  It turned out pretty well.  We had snacks and drinks, a drawing for prizes, and games.  The kids had a lot of fun, because it's not very often they get a party, for the sake of just having a party.

The other two English teachers at my school: Yong-im (witch), and Hyun-ju (Sideshow Bob look-a-like).  Hyun-ju lived in New York for 10 years, but it still throws me off when she says things like, "Are you hungry?  Do you want to get in, on some ddapoki action?"

David and Ted
David made this all by himself.  It consisted of a black plastic bag, and white styrofoam - pretty clever.

Me, Yong-im, and some of my students.

Brian finally got the monkey off his back, but now its moved onto his chest.

This is Skylar.  Not much to say, but I like this picture.

I love the expression on Judy's face as she's jumping up in excitement, as a member of her team is about to cross the finish line.
