Sports Day
10/13/2004

Recently, Kangneung Elementary School had a Sports Day, or "Field Day" as it was called when I was growing up.  Most of my elementary students are from that school, since it's located five minutes from my academy.  On my way to work, I stopped by and watched the last 30 minutes of their activites.  As you can see, the P.E. uniforms for this school is purple and white, which isn't as bad as another school, who wore fluorescent green.  It looked like they were having fun, but I wished the students here could play on real grass!

Lots of crappy toys for sale, but that's coming from a (sort of) grown up.  I guess an inaccurate, flimsy bow and arrow would be fun if you were a 10 year old boy.

One of my students carrying his chair and pom-pom back to his classroom.

A woman passes on the silkworm larvae, and buys cotton candy instead... good call!

Saturday night... I'm walking downtown and come upon this - a man so drunk, he hell asleep on the hood of his car.

I LOVE how the internet is so informative!  The latest buzz online is about a 60GB ipod, with photo capabilities!  I know it's not exciting to many, but for people who love to travel, it's the perfect backpacking accessory!  Think about it... the ability to listen to your entire music collection, which will help take your mind off the torturous bus ride from Bangkok to Phnom Phen (or something similar).  In addition, you're able to store thousands of your digital photos on on a compact device that will let you view the pictures on a 2-inch color screen.  (...and here's another picture of my drunk friends from The Warehouse...)

The 2-inch color screen is identical in size to other iPods, but will sport a higher resolution for photo viewing. However, the new device's real shining feature will be its video-out port, which will enable users to tote their photo galleries with them, ready to be plugged into any television for big-screen viewing.

Sources indicate that Apple will market the new photo iPod as being capable of storing 20,000 music tracks and 25,000 photos. As an added bonus for music fans, album artwork will be displayed on screen when it's available for a selected track.

Yo dogg! Thatz gonna be hella dope, when it drops!  Off da hook, fo sho!  (Sorry, I've got street cred to uphold.)  You can start building your own street cred at The Rap Dictionary.
